Donovan Mitchell has recently been traded to the Cleveland Cavaliers, and there is no doubt that he will be a huge difference-maker for that team. Many expect them to be contenders, as the team's roster now has three All-Star players.

It remains to be seen how far the Cleveland Cavaliers go in next year's playoffs. They now have the talent to make a deep run and former Cavaliers star Brad Daugherty suggested that the team will make it to the Eastern Conference Finals.

"This is a significant piece for a basketball team that I thought would win 50 games this year anyway. Donovan can not only score in volume, he works on the defensive end. You add that to what they have with Darius Garland, Evan Mobley, and on and on and on. Now you have something and go into that luxury tax situation and go deep into it. I would be shocked if this team didn't make it to the Eastern Conference Finals. I think there's enough depth there with the guys that have been working their butts off."

Obviously, talent on paper doesn't mean anything unless it translates to wins. It will be up to Donovan Mitchell to lead this team far in the postseason, as he is widely considered the best player on the team after his trade.

Rudy Gobert Thinks Donovan Mitchell Still Has Untapped Potential

Rudy Gobert knows firsthand how good Donovan Mitchell is. The duo played countless years together on the Utah Jazz, though unfortunately, they were never able to get past the second round.

In fact, Rudy Gobert has recently claimed that Donovan Mitchell is going to "keep getting better", and added that Mitchell has a great opportunity to show what he can do on a new team and playing in a new system. Antonis Straggylakis of EuroHoops.net relayed the news.

“I think he has a bright future,” Gobert told Eurohoops when asked about the Mitchell trade. “He’s one of the best young players in his position. He’s going to keep getting better. I think it’s a great opportunity for him to just get to a new system, a new team and be able to show what he can do.”

It is clear that Rudy Gobert has a high opinion of Donovan Mitchell and his game. Donovan Mitchell has often carried the Utah Jazz with his scoring, and he will likely have to do the same with the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Hopefully, we see Donovan Mitchell have an elite season next year. Perhaps he will have an All-NBA caliber season in a new environment. Sometimes, we see players truly blossom after moving franchises.
