The Los Angeles Lakers were once again short-handed on Monday night.
Therefore, the Lakers were once again soundly defeated as the Denver Nuggets took them down, 122-109.
LA was lacking LeBron James, Troy Brown, Austin Reaves, Lonnie Walker, and of course Anthony Davis.
That means that other players tried their hardest to step up.
Unsurprisingly, Russell Westbrook poured his heart into the game, as he’s been doing all season long.
However, Monday night’s game featured Westbrook playing so hard that he had to fight through a pretty nasty injury.
Following the game, Westbrook said that he dislocated his right pinky finger during the match.
In fact, he said it happened twice.
This led to Westbrook popping the finger back into place himself without the assistance of medical staff.
The good news is that X-rays after the game came back negative, which means Westbrook will be ready to play in the next competition.
This shows that Westbrook really does want to play and that is something that few people can deny.
You can comment and critique the way that he performs and the choices he makes on the court but few people can claim that Westbrook doesn’t have a lot of fight in him.
The man is steadfast in his determination and eagerness to play.
He is also someone who rarely misses games, even when he’s injured.
Westbrook and his finger should be ready to take on the Dallas Mavericks this Thursday, which is sure to be a rough match.
Following that, the team will then face off against the Philadelphia 76ers, Houston Rockets, then Sacramento Kings.
