Los Angeles Lakers guard Russell Westbrook Troy Taormina-USA TODAY Sports

The Memphis Grizzlies defeated the Los Angeles Lakers 127-119 on Sunday. While the final score ended up being a bit closer than it originally looked like it would be thanks to a late fourth quarter run by L.A., the game was never really in any doubt.

Despite featuring the likes of LeBron James and Russell Westbrook, the biggest star coming out of this outing was undoubtedly Grizzlies guard Ja Morant.

Although Morant only had 16 points on the night, his two-handed chase-down block on Lakers guard Avery Bradley is arguably the best play of the entire NBA season thus far.

After the game, Westbrook was asked to offer his thoughts on Morant from a point guard’s perspective. Weirdly enough, he became blatantly triggered by the question.

The video speaks for itself.

It’s unclear what Westbrook’s issue there is.

Is it that he doesn’t feel like he is the Lakers’ point guard? Is it that he was salty about his season-low six points on 2-of-12 shooting from the field? Is he angry that people are talking about Morant in the way they used to talk about him once upon a time?

The world may never know.

Big picture, Westbrook has been a tough fit with the Lakers this year. The front office has spoken to two different teams about trading him, but at the moment it is unclear how viable either deal is.

In fact, all signs point to a completely different trade being made if anything does get done before February’s NBA Trade Deadline.

Obviously, the season isn’t even halfway done yet, so Westbrook still has time to turn things around. That said, thus far he has just been taking one L after another.
