Sabrina Ionescu wants all the smoke. The New York Liberty star on Tuesday asked to level the playing field for her three-point shootout against Golden State Warriors point guard Steph Curry.

The two sharpshooters are slated to face off in a three-point contest during the 2024 NBA All-Star Weekend at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis.

The NBA announced that the contest would feature similar rules to past years: four racks with four regular balls and one “money” ball worth two points, one “all money ball” rack, and two longer range shots from the right and left wings worth three points apiece.

The only distinction would be that Curry will be shooting with NBA balls on the NBA three-point line. Ionescu, on the other hand, is going to use WNBA balls from the WNBA line.

However, Ionescu on Tuesday posted on X, formerly known as Twitter, that she was willing to shoot from the NBA line just like Curry.

“I’ll shoot from the NBA line… LETS GET IT!!!!!!!” wrote.

The NBA uses a 23-foot, 9-inch line which shortens by more than a foot in the corners. The WNBA uses a 22-foot, 1.75-inch line that also flattens to around 22 feet in the corner.

Curry and Ionescu have teased the contest several times in the past ever since the WNBA star broke the all-time contest record with 37 last year.

Ionescu has shown time and again in her career that she’s more than capable of shooting from NBA range in spots. But extending her range for an entire three-point shootout against the greatest shooter of all time could be an entirely different story.
