On Saturday evening, the Sacramento Kings will host the New York Knicks in California.
Before the game (on Friday), the Kings announced an injury update on Trey Lyles (h/t James Ham of ESPN 1320 Sacramento).
Via The Kings: "Kings forward Trey Lyles injured his left knee in the second quarter versus the Milwaukee Bucks on Tuesday, March 12. Imaging confirmed Lyles suffered an MCL sprain. Lyles will be listed as out and will be re-evaluated in two weeks."
Lyles is currently averaging 7.1 points, 4.4 rebounds and 1.1 assists per contest while shooting 45.0% from the field and 38.3% from the three-point range in 49 games.
The 28-year-old was the 12th pick in the 2015 NBA Draft out of Kentucky, and is in his ninth season in the league.
In addition to the Kings, he has also spent time with the Utah Jazz, Denver Nuggets, San Antonio Spurs and Detroit Pistons.
His career averages are 7.7 points, 4.3 rebounds and 1.0 assists per contest while shooting 44.4% from the field and 34.7% from the three-point range in 572 regular season games.
He has also appeared in 12 NBA playoff games.
As for the Kings, they are the sixth seed in the Western Confernece with a 38-27 record in 65 games.
They have gone 6-4 over their last ten games and are also in the middle of a two-game winning streak.
Following the Knicks, the Kings will play their next game on Monday evening when they host the Memphis Grizzlies in California.
