The Golden State Warriors are really not doing well with their 2021 draftees right now.

During an appearance this week on 95.7 The Game in San Francisco, Jason Dumas of KRON-TV reported that Warriors wing Moses Moody and his camp are growing “frustrated” by his inconsistent role with the team.

“They’re frustrated with the lack of having a role and the lack of having consistency,” said Dumas of Moody’s contingent, per the San Francisco Chronicle. “He’s in the rotation one day, and he’s out of the rotation [the next]. For lack of a better term, he almost seems like the sacrificial lamb, so to speak. Whenever there’s a logjam, he’s going to be the guy that falls out."

“It’s understandable that someone in his position, with a lot of talent, young, would be frustrated and would want a clear path to playing time, whether it be here or somewhere else,” Dumas added.

Moody, 21, was a lottery pick by the Warriors in 2021 (No. 14 overall). But now in his third NBA season, Moody has yet to find a regular spot in Golden State’s rotation. He is seeing just 18.0 minutes per game this season (which is actually a career high for Moody) and has been a healthy scratch for the last three games and counting. The future outlook for Moody isn’t much brighter either as Draymond Green is nearing a return from suspension.

Warriors head coach Steve Kerr, though he has given ample minutes to deserving young players such as rookies Brandin Podziemski and Trayce Jackson-Davis, is sometimes accused of playing favorites (especially with underperforming veterans like Andrew Wiggins and Kevon Looney). Kerr might need to dramatically rethink his strategy though as the Warriors are 16-18 with another young player reportedly getting upset with his role too.
