The Toronto Raptors appear to be narrowing in on their next head coach.

There’s no official word on who is set to take over in Toronto but, according to the Toronto Star, the organization has finalized a list of three candidates and the expectation is Toronto will have someone in place before next month’s NBA Draft.

Sergio Scariolo is believed to be the leading candidate, according to FanDuel. The former Raptors assistant coach is listed at +500, implying a 17% probability he lands the job. The Raptors reportedly flew a contingent down to Italy to interview Scariolo, per Sportando, where he Italian head coach currently leads Virtus Bologna.

Steve Nash, formerly of the Brooklyn Nets, is the next most-likely candidate listed at +550, implying a 15% likelihood. The Canadian basketball legend has also interviewed for the job, according to The Athletic. Nash spent parts of three seasons leading a dysfunctional Nets team before being fired early last season.

Former Phoenix Suns head coach Monty Williams is listed at +650, implying a 13% chance. Williams led the Suns to an NBA Finals in 2021. He was named the NBA’s Coach of the Year in 2022.

Kenny Atkinson of Golden State, Jordi Fenrandez of Sacramento, Chris Quinn of Miami, David Adelman of Denver, and former NBA sharpshooter JJ Redick have all been given between a 12% and 10% chance to land the job.
