Shootings leave three injured as crowd in Milwaukee celebrates Bucks' NBA title

Two shootings in downtown Milwaukee early Wednesday morning left three people injured, police said, according to The Associated Press (h/t ESPN).

The news comes after a crowd of nearly 65,000 people gathered outside Fiserv Forum to watch Game 6 of the NBA Finals and later celebrate the Milwaukee Bucks' first NBA title since 1971 on Tuesday night.

According to police, the shootings happened around 12:42 a.m. at two locations across the Milwaukee River from Fiserv Forum and the Deer District plaza. The area where the shootings occurred is on a street heavily populated with bars and restaurants, The Associated Press adds.

The shootings left a 22-year-old man, 19-year-old woman and 32-year-old man with non-life-threatening injuries. One person is in custody, and police are searching for other suspects.

Milwaukee's second title in franchise history came as Giannis Antetokounmpo capped one of the greatest NBA Finals contests ever with 50 points as the Bucks beat the Phoenix Suns 105-98 to win the series 4-2.
