Back in the day, change seemed to be good for the Washington Wizards . In the Gilbert Arenas era, the two anchors that truly mattered were centered around two centers that repped for The District - Brendan Haywood and Etan Thomas. You knew that you were in good hands down low with the both of them on the roster. However, you could only start one and Brendan Haywood proved to be the better of the two. With that said, Etan Thomas was still valuable and meant a lot to the team on both ends of the floor.

The feeling there takes us to where we are today, in the year 2024. Daniel Gafford has meant the world to this Wizards team. He has been the only big that the Wizards could rely on. They simply didn’t have any depth behind Gafford but somehow someway they still have been able to make things work.

The addition of Marvin Bagley changes things for the Wizards. The addition of Marvin Bagley gives the Wizards options. However, this addition and the level of his play may seem to give the Wizards a choice and a decision too. It may be time to start Marvin Bagley.

Bagley had the opportunity to start immediately in his very first and second game as a member of the Washington Wizards and he certainly took full advantage of his opportunity. Even when Gafford returned to the lineup, Bagley still managed to put up better numbers in half of the playing time that Gafford played. While they both should be very important pieces to this puzzle moving forward in Washington, it is now time to make a change at center for the Wizards.
