Sixers' Patrick Beverley makes bold prediction on Anthony Edwards' future in Minnesota

During a recent appearance on the "Gil's Arena" podcast, Philadelphia 76ers guard Patrick Beverley shared a belief that Anthony Edwards will soon outgrow the Minnesota Timberwolves.

"He will get out of Minnesota; that's just what happens," Beverley said. "That's no disrespect to Minnesota. It's just that personality; he could change the world...It has to be a big market. He is the type of player that you need to see him. There's no way Minnesota should have nine, 10 TV games right now. So, all the work he's putting in right now, it looks different when you get to see it. [Rather] than like go through an app to see it."

Since arriving in the NBA, Edwards has quickly established himself as a fan favorite as an explosive athlete and talented scorer. However, it's the young guard's fun-loving personality that has seen him become a household name. Edwards' prominent rise has continued this summer, becoming the featured offensive player for Team USA at the FIBA World Cup.

There's no doubt that Edwards's skill set is tailor-made for the big stage. A bigger market will undoubtedly beckon in the coming years. As such, the Timberwolves have to raise their game and become legitimate contenders. The only way to keep an elite talent like Edwards, as a small market team, is to evolve into a perennial powerhouse.

Edwards will continue to improve over the coming years and has the potential to be a top-10 player in the NBA. Minnesota has an amazing opportunity on its hands. If the Western Conference team fails to match Edwards' growth with its own, then a big-market team will be waiting in the wings.

Like it or loathe it, that's how the NBA works.
