Sixers troll Kings with 'Light the Beam' tweet

After every Sacramento win, a purple beam of light shoots into the sky from the top of Golden 1 Center, the Kings' home arena. While inconsiderate to astronauts, airline pilots and extraterrestrial beings, the lighting of "The Beam" has started something special for Sacramento.

Fans and players alike have joined in on the fun, and with the Kings above .500 (14-12) through 26 games for just the second time since 2004, there's no reason to stop.

The Kings aren't the only ones who have had fun with lasers recently.

A bit of trolling was done Tuesday night from the rooftop of the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia after the Sixers handily defeated Sacramento, 123-103.

It's no surprise that a team built around Joel "Troel" Embiid might have a laugh at Sacramento's expense.

After Wednesday night's game against the Raptors in Toronto, the Kings hope to be "beaming" again. It will certainly please the team's owner.

“I want aliens to see it," Kings owner Vivek Ranadive recently said of the beam, per NBC Sports California's Tom Dierberger. "I want it to go so far out that everyone can see it.”
