Spurs' Dejounte Murray posts triple double, career-high 32 points

It's safe to say Dejounte Murray has taken a leap this season. That continued to be the case on Wednesday.

The Spurs guard threw up a career-high 32 points en route to a triple double in San Antonio's 128-124 loss to Houston. He finished with 32 points, 10 rebounds and 11 assists on 12-for-16 from the field and 4-for-9 from three-point range.

It was Murray's seventh triple double of the season and fourth in his last 11 appearances. He's now tied with James Harden and Nikola Jokic for the second most in the NBA this season, and is just two back of Russell Westbrook, who leads with nine.

Murray has seen his numbers jump almost across the board this season, particularly with his assists. He currently averages 8.9 assists per game, good for fourth in the NBA and an increase of more than three per game from last season. He also averages 18.4 points and 8.2 rebounds per game in addition to 2.1 steals per contest, which leads the league.

That shouldn't come as a surprise, as Murray's points, rebounds and assists numbers have risen across each of his five seasons in the NBA. The Spurs selected Murray with the 29th pick in the 2016 Draft out of Washington.

Bryn Forbes and Keldon Johnson added 21 and 18 points off the bench for San Antonio, respectively. Houston was led by Eric Gordon, who scored 31 points, and Christian Wood, who scored 23 and reeled in 11 rebounds.
