Steph Curry 'absolutely' wants to break Klay Thompson's three-point record

Steph Curry has been on an insane hot streak as of late, making double-digit three-pointers in back-to-back games, including making 11 in the Warriors' blowout win over the Thunder on Wednesday night. After the game, Curry was asked if he would want to break Klay Thompson's record of most three-pointers in a game and he did not hesitate to give an answer.

"Absolutely," Curry told reporters.

Thompson set the record back in 2018, making 14 three-pointers against the Chicago Bulls to break the previous record of 13, which was set by Curry in 2016. Curry believes that Thompson's record is "gettable" but will be challenging to break.

"I think it's gettable, but we'll see," Curry said.

Curry is currently having his best season since becoming the first unanimous MVP in 2016, almost single-handedly keeping the Warriors' playoff hopes alive with Thompson missing the entire season while recovering from a torn Achilles tendon.

With little help on offense, Curry has had to carry the Golden State offense and is second in the league in points per game while shooting nearly 50% from the field and over 42% from three. He has scored at least 30 points in eight straight games.
