Steph Curry on 30-point streak ending: 'It was a special ride'

For the first time in the month of April, Steph Curry did not score 30 points in a game, as his insane hot streak finally cooled down in the Warriors' 118-114 loss to the Washington Wizards on Wednesday night. After the game, Curry reflected on his unbelievable streak, saying that it was "special" while acknowledging it had to end at some point.

"It was a special ride, for sure," Curry said. "And never really get too hyped up on individual streaks or accolades like that. There were some historical names that I was able to pass. And doing something at this age was pretty special."

For 11 straight games, Curry scored at least 30 points, while averaging 40.0 points on 54.1% shooting and 49.7% from three-point range since he returned from injury at the end of March. His dominating play has earned him a spot in the MVP conversation, despite the Warriors being tied with the San Antonio Spurs for the No. 9 seed in the Western Conference standings.

In the loss to the Wizards, Curry's shot finally stopped falling, as he went 7-for-25 from the field and made only two of his 14 three-point attempts, ending up with just 18 points. But even with this performance, Curry is still in the midst of one of the most dominant offensive months in NBA history.
