Steph Curry tries to match Tiger Woods in new golf show

Steph Curry won a celebrity golf tournament this summer. Now he's attempting Tiger Woods' greatest shot.

In his new Golf Channel show, Curry and longtime teammate Andre Iguodala try to replicate legendary shots from golf history, alongside LPGA golfer Michelle Wie and Curry's swing coach. First up was a Tiger Woods shot from the 16th hole at the 2012 Memorial Tournament at Muirfield, where Woods chipped in out of deep rough.

Spoiler alert: None of the three golfers managed to match Woods' shot.

Curry has always been a golf enthusiast, as is Iguodala, who calls Curry a better golfer than him. In the pilot, Iguodala says that Curry hits crazy shots on the golf course just like he does on the basketball court and "[i]t's annoying."

It's Curry's second foray into golf television. He spent four seasons as the executive producer and resident "golf pro" on ABC's "Holey Moley," a golf competition on a supersized miniature golf course. The show may have gone off the rails in the final season, which featured Curry getting kidnapped by Muppets.

Could Curry have a second career as a golfer when he hangs it up in the NBA? While Curry has an impressive handicap of 1.3, the average touring pro would boast a 5.4 handicap, if they reported scores the same way. But learning how to mimic the greatest shots in the sport's history can't hurt his golf future.

If this show takes off, perhaps there's another show in the future, where Brooks Koepka and Rory McIlroy try to sink running threes just inside the half-court line. They can call it "Nicer Shot."
