Stephen Curry has now officially won his 4th NBA title as the Golden State Warriors defeated the Celtics 103-90 in Game 6 of the NBA Finals. Curry was absolutely phenomenal for the Warriors throughout the series leading in the number of points scored including an absurd 43-point performance in Game 4.

Averaging 31.2 points, 5 assists, and 6 rebounds per game against the Celtics, the 34-year-old deservedly clinched his first-ever NBA Finals MVP trophy as well. The now 4-time champion was understandably emotional after his win.

Immediately after the final whistle, an emotional Curry ran across the court, and despite this being his 4th title, something was different in the air this time. During his title celebrations on the court, Steph explained why this win meant so much to him (4:04):

"We were so far away from them. We were here five straight years and won three of them and We hit rock bottom with injuries and a long road of work ahead and trying to fill in the right pieces and right guys. Never take this for granted cause you never know when you will be back here and to get back here and get it done means the world."

It is easy to forget what the Warriors really went through in the last three years. With the team's veteran core of Curry, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green all suffering through injuries, the Dubs were a lottery team in the 2019-20 season.

While 2020-21 was set to be the year the Warriors made a comeback, Thompson suffered an injury yet again and Curry and co. only went as far as the play-in tournament despite his heroics.

Even during the start of this season, no one backed the Warriors to be the NBA champions, but here we are, 10 months later and the trio of Curry, Thompson, and Green have done it again, winning the 4th title for the Warriors in the last 7 years.

With the trio showing no signs of slowing down and young players like Jordan Poole popping up, we might not be done with the era of the Golden State Warriors.
