Steve Francis recently opened up about the struggles he has faced due to alcohol abuse, and the former NBA star clearly does not have the issue under control.

According to a report from TMZ, Francis was arrested for public intoxication following a disturbance at a hotel bar in Burbank late Sunday night. Law enforcement officials told TMZ there was some sort of dispute between two men, and police determined that Francis was intoxicated when they arrived. The 41-year-old was transported to jail but given a citation and released on Monday morning.

This is not Francis’s first alcohol-related arrest, as he was booked for driving while intoxicated back in 2016 and was reportedly anything but cooperative with police during the incident.

Earlier this month, Francis published an article for The Players’ Tribune that detailed how alcohol abuse led to the demise of his NBA career. He also said he “lost [his] whole identity” in the span of a few years because of it. After his 2016 arrest, Francis’s estranged wife said he had already been to rehab for his issues but still needed help.
