The Golden State Warriors continue to show just how far they are from being serious championship contenders. Blown out on their home floor by the New Orleans Pelicans on Wednesday night, the Warriors hit a new low. After the game, head coach Steve Kerr made a brutally honest statement, saying his team lacks the spirit and confidence needed to be great.

This is a brutally honest take from Kerr, and one that shows one of the reasons why the Warriors have been such a poor team this season. While intangibles like spirit and confidence are important, they are also far from Golden State's only issues. Lacking the overall production that the league's top teams have, the Warriors are simply less talented than legitimate contenders.

While Steph Curry is still a superstar, his recent struggles have magnified how thin this roster is outside of him. The Warriors are getting very little production from their once reliable veterans, and their young players have understandably gone through the ups and downs of getting real rotation minutes for the first time at the NBA level.

All of this has led to the Warriors being in a very bad spot, and needing some serious change. Whether that change comes internally or externally remains to be seen, but this team certainly needs to do something to turn this around.
