Steve Nash discusses coaching approach with Nets

Since it was announced that Steve Nash was hired bye the Brooklyn Nets as head coach, fans and media have wondered what style the two-time MVP would adopt. During his time in the NBA, Nash was widely considered one of the savviest players in the league, and he sounds like he plans to help Brooklyn player reach their potential.

"I wasn't hired to come in and be a tactical wizard. I think they understand that my acumen for the game is strong, and I can catch up on the technical aspects," Nash said. "I think they hired me because I have the experience and the personality to work with these guys and to be able to help them grow, reach their potential and bring it all together."

Even before the Nash hiring, the Nets were among the most promising teams in the NBA heading into next season with Kevin Durant set to return to the court after missing this entire season due to a ruptured Achilles tendon. Durant will team up with Kyrie Irving, who is one of the most skilled ball-handlers since Nash. The duo is expected to immediately make Brooklyn a contender in the Eastern Conference.

There are questions about how the two will mesh with the rest of the team, as both Durant and Irving have had chemistry issues with teammates in the past. If Nash is able to "bring it all together," it could result in the Nets making a deep postseason run.
