Suns guard Devin Booker commits to play for Team USA at Tokyo Olympics

Phoenix Suns guard Devin Booker has committed to play for Team USA at the Tokyo Olympics, according to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.

Booker's commitment comes as the Suns are preparing for the Western Conference finals against the Los Angeles Clippers. It is their first appearance in the finals since 2010.

If Phoenix reaches the NBA Finals, Booker will have little time to recover before Team USA begins play in Tokyo on July 25.

Booker has led the Suns in scoring during the regular season and postseason. The 24-year-old is averaging 27.9 points, 6.8 rebounds and 4.8 assists per game while shooting 48.7% from the field and 37.7% from deep in 10 playoff games.

Booker becomes the fifth player to commit to play at the Olympics, joining Washington Wizards star Bradley Beal, Portland Trail Blazers guard Damian Lillard, Golden State Warriors veteran Draymond Green and Boston Celtics star Jayson Tatum.

USA Basketball is aiming to fill its 12-man roster by the end of this month. Some of America's biggest stars, such as LeBron James and Jimmy Butler, have already decided not to compete at the Olympics this summer.
