The Suns have signed guard Saben Lee to a second 10-day contract, the team announced in a press release.

Lee, 23, is 6-foot-2 and signed his first 10-day deal on Jan. 11. He has become a regular part of the rotation, appearing in four games and averaging 8.5 points on 58 percent shooting, including 38 percent on 3-pointers.

The Suns (22-24) have been wildly shorthanded lately, missing point guard Chris Paul and shooting guard Devin Booker for long stretches — opening the door for Lee, who has played more minutes than any other NBA 10-day signee this season.

Lee was originally drafted by the Pistons with the No. 38 overall selection in 2020, making him GM Troy Weaver‘s first pick in Detroit. Lee appeared in 48 games as a rookie, and then 37 games last year, both with the Pistons, averaging 5.6 points each season.

He was then a part of the Pistons-Jazz deal that sent wing Bojan Bogdanovic to Detroit in late September. Lee was viewed as being included for salary-matching purposes and was waived shortly after the deal.
