The Toronto Raptors traded Thaddeus Young to the Brooklyn Nets along with Dennis Schroder on Feb. 8.

The veteran got bought out by the Nets and then the veteran signed a deal with the Phoenix Suns.

He now has a legitimate shot to win a title with his new team.

Young never had a chance to give a proper goodbye to Toronto, so the 35-year-old took to X to relay a touching message:

“Huge thanks to Toronto, my forever family! Grateful for the love, lessons, and memories. To my young brothers, keep striving and find your balance. Always here for you. Forever grateful to Raptors.”

Young’s message to Toronto came a little late, but better late than never.

Fans showed their appreciation in the comments and thanked Young for his services with the Raptors.

Young was a steady veteran presence with the Raptors. Whenever faced with injuries and being shorthanded, he did a solid job to help the Raptors fill a void.

Young averaged 5 points, 3.5 rebounds and 1.7 assists in 103 games for the Raptors throughout three seasons with the team.

His stats this year were in line with his career averages with Toronto. Young put up 5 points, 3.3 rebounds and 2.2 assists in 23 games in 15.2 minutes of action.

Young was traded from the San Antonio Spurs to the Raptors on Feb. 10 2022. He spent exactly two calendar years with Toronto.

Young will always be regarded as a class act and the ultimate professional.
