The Utah Jazz have been saying goodbye to some immense talent lately.

At the start of the offseason, the team parted ways with Rudy Gobert, who was easily one of the most significant players on the roster.

They followed that up recently with the trade of Donovan Mitchell to the Cleveland Cavaliers.

While Utah’s return on those players was big (multiple players and draft picks) one thing became very obvious: the team was looking to tank this season and then rebuild.

They’re not done yet.

Ramona Shelburne says that the team, who still retains Bojan Bogdanovic, Jordan Clarkson, and Mike Conley, isn’t finished making deals and trading away players.

“The sense around the league is that the Jazz at least feel that they have deals for all of those veteran players,” Shelburne said on ESPN.

You can’t blame the Jazz for wanting to commit to more trades, especially after all they have received so far.

Utah’s Haul

What did Danny Ainge and the Jazz get for Gobert and Mitchell?

A lot.

They collected seven first-round picks (six of them are unprotected, the other is only top-five protected), as well as three pick-swaps, and nine players.

Therefore, you can understand why they’d want to continue trading away the rest of their roster.

But this means that the team will be a shell of its former self in the new season and fans should not expect many wins.

However, with tanking comes possibilities and the Jazz could be incredible…in a few years.

Training camp is quickly approaching and the Jazz seem to be on a roll so one should expect more trades coming from Salt Lake City any day now.
