Sunday night marked another low moment for the Phoenix Suns this season.

The team was taken down by the Cleveland Cavaliers, 112-98, bringing their current record to 20-21, which leaves them in 8th place in the West.

That is a far, far cry from where they were last season.

Remember, they ended 2021-22 with a 64-18 record but achieving that again is now literally impossible.

Sunday’s loss means that the Suns are now 5-15 over their last 20 games.

Because of bad injuries, bad mistakes, and bad luck, the Suns are looking like a lacking, troubled team.

The Suns Are Setting

Usually, the squad has problems in the postseason, as evidenced by their loss in the Finals two years ago and their complete collapse in the postseason in 2021-22.

But this year they are getting started early and are now floundering in the regular season.

The loss of Devin Booker has had a big impact on the team and he is still out for several more weeks due to a groin injury.

Chris Paul has been back from his own injury but he has been inconsistent at times and didn’t play on Sunday night.

That put all the pressure on guys like Mikal Bridges, Deandre Ayton, Duane Washington Jr., and others.

They tried their hardest and all scored double-digits but they couldn’t slow down the Cavs.

Recently the team has fallen to competitors like the Miami Heat, New York Knicks, Toronto Raptors, Washington Wizards, Denver Nuggets, and others.

The idea of the team being at the top of the West this year is now far-fetched but will the Suns be able to compose themselves and get back on track before the season ends?

If not, you might see some trades or even the firing of head coach Monty Williams.

The incoming front office might want to make some big changes if things don’t look better in Phoenix soon.
