Despite the Suns only holding a 5-4 record in the month of March, SG Devin Booker has been on one of the greatest stretches of his career.

So far this month, Booker has recorded over 30 points in seven of the nine games played. He is on track to average a career-best 34 points per game in March, leading the rest of the NBA.

This boost over the past week or so has Booker now averaging 27.6 points per game overall this season, which is a career high. He has accomplished this shooting at a ridiculous .492 rate from the field.

And there seems to be no slowing down for D-book. In the Suns’ heartbreaking loss to the Thunder on Sunday, he put the team on his back with 46 points on just 28 shots, his 7th 40-point game this season. The Suns led almost the entire game, but without Kevin Durant and Deandre Ayton, there was only so much Booker could do.

In the loss, the closest teammate to Booker regarding points was Chris Paul with 15; not a single other player scored over 20.

It is hard to imagine that Phoenix loses this game if they have even half of the Ayton/Durant combo on the court.

Nevertheless, as the season winds down, there is no room to look at the what-ifs. With just a four-game difference between 4th and 11th place, Phoenix cannot afford to allow another late-game comeback, which they did on Sunday.
