Putting up one spectacular performance after another, Giannis Antetokounmpo has been nothing short of impressive for the Milwaukee Bucks halfway through the NBA season.

Getting highlights

After yet another dominant performance in Milwaukee's 135-110 win over the New Orleans Pelicans on Sunday night, the bull-strong forward revealed the reason behind his recent offensive onslaught.

The Greek Freak said putting up MVP-like numbers on a daily basis is to make sure that when the right time comes, his children will have an interest in watching his highlights.

"They might say, 'Daddy, you're boring. You're lame. We don't want to see your highlights. We've heard so much about you. We want to watch Scooby-Doo' or whatever the case might be," Antetokounmpo said.

Respecting the greats

Antetokounmpo said he is just trying to imitate some of the NBA greats whose exploits in the hardcourt are worth emulating.

"I'm just going to keep creating the way people in the past created, the way I can go back and watch Magic Johnson highlights, Kevin Garnett highlights, Kobe Bryant highlights, Allen Iverson highlights, KD's, LeBron's. They've created so much art throughout the years, and we can go back and see it and admire what they did. Tim Duncan," Antetokounmpo said.

For the season, the 7-footer forward is averaging 31.8 points, 12.2 rebounds, and 5.2 assists. Giannis has scored at least 40 points in 10 games this season, and his output against the Pelicans was five off his career-high that he set in Milwaukee's 123-113 win over the Washington Wizards on January 4th.

Antetokoumpo has been having a stellar season, and he was named captain of the Eastern Conference All-Star team for next month's All-Star Game.

A 10-year pro, Giannis has already won two MVP awards, one championship, and many more personal accolades. At the rate his career is going, Antetokounmpo need not worry. His kids will undoubtedly love watching their daddy's highlight reels.
