Ticket stubs for Michael Jordan's debut could sell for $300K via auction

Michael Jordan merchandise continues to generate sports headlines in the closing days of summer.

Per TMZ Sports, a pair of tickets that were used by individuals to see Jordan's official NBA debut for the Chicago Bulls on Oct. 26, 1984, versus what was known at the time as the Washington Bullets are available via an auction held by Bonhams

One of the tickets has the phrase "Michael Jordan's first game" written on the front, while the other has "Michael Jordan's first game" inscribed on the back. Additionally, former NBA player Dallas Comegys signed one of the tickets for a fan who attended what ultimately became a historic sporting event.

As Jeff Eisenberg noted for Yahoo Sports this past February, an unused ticket for Jordan’s NBA debut sold for $468,000 at that time. Bonhams says that the two tickets available for bidding from Monday through Sept. 29 could sell for between $200,000 and $300,000.

It was reported last week that a jersey Jordan wore in Game 1 of the 1998 NBA Finals featured in ESPN's "The Last Dance" docuseries sold for $10.091 million, the most money ever paid for an item of sports memorabilia. In many ways, "His Airness" remains basketball's G.O.A.T. even though he hasn't played since the 2002-03 season.
