The Timberwolves have acquired the G League rights to shooting guard Nik Stauskas, the team announced in a press release.

Stauskas, 28, is 6-foot-6 and his rights were acquired in a trade with the College Park SkyHawks in exchange for the rights to forward Chris Silva.

Stauskas appeared in two games with the Heat last season, along with six games with the Celtics. He was signed by the Celtics in March and traded to the Pacers as part of the package for Malcolm Brogdon in July. Indiana waived Stauskas a few days after the deal.

Stauskas has also made NBA stops with the Cavaliers, Trail Blazers, Nets, 76ers and Kings. He was originally selected by Sacramento with the No. 8 overall pick in the 2014 NBA Draft.

Along with the aforementioned teams, he has spent time in the G League and a season in Spain. Stauskas will presumably attend training camp with the Timberwolves.
