Timberwolves' Anthony Edwards, Taurean Prince enter health and safety protocol

One of the youngest and brightest stars in the NBA has entered the league's health and safety protocols.

The Minnesota Timberwolves most recently played the Denver Nuggets on Wednesday. Denver placed Bol Bol in the protocols on Friday as well.

In his second NBA season, Edwards has averaged 22.1 points, 5.8 rebounds, 3.6 assists and a team-leading 1.6 steals through 28 games thus far. The former No. 1 overall pick is second to Karl Anthony-Towns in scoring and ranks third in rebounds and assists.

Prince is in his sixth NBA season and first with the Timberwolves. Through 24 games — including eight starts — the 27-year-old is averaging 4.6 points, 2.1 rebounds and 15.4 minutes per contest.

Minnesota is scheduled to host the Los Angeles Lakers at 10 p.m. ET on Friday.
