Timberwolves forward Kyle Anderson is “day to day” with the left knee sprain that’s keeping him out of Wednesday night’s home game against the Memphis Grizzlies.

Anderson was ruled out ahead of Wednesday’s game for the injury that he sustained during Tuesday night’s 114-105 victory over the San Antonio Spurs. He started Tuesday in place of Karl-Anthony Towns, who was out for personal reasons, but played just 15 minutes due to the injury.

He finished with two points, four assists, two rebounds and a pair of steals.

“I would say it’s more day to day,” Timberwolves coach Chris Finch said of Anderson’s injury. “I don’t think it’s super long, but you never know how these things respond over 48 hours.”

Anderson is averaging 6.2 points, 4.1 assists and 3.5 rebounds per game this season. He’s typically been inserted into the starting lineup if the Timberwolves are down either Towns or Rudy Gobert and has been a valuable player in the team’s rotation.

Both Gobert and All-Star guard Anthony Edwards are gametime decisions for Wednesday night’s matchup against the Grizzlies. Gobert was also a gametime decision for Tuesday night’s game against the Spurs, but started and played 39 minutes, recording 13 points, 17 rebounds and four blocks in the Timberwolves’ win.
