Timberwolves star Karl-Anthony Towns' tweet shows he's not worried about calf injury

Minnesota Timberwolves star big man Karl-Anthony Towns suffered a right calf strain during the team's loss to the Washington Wizards on Monday and will reportedly miss four to six weeks. "KAT" doesn't seem concerned about his injury, however.

During the early stages of the COVID-19 pandemic in the spring of 2020, Towns' mother (Jacqueline Cruz) and multiple other members of his family passed away after contracting the virus. Since then, the three-time All-Star has been one of the more outspoken NBA players when it comes to the pandemic and in support of vaccination.

According to multiple reports, Towns didn't suffer any structural damage when he went down with the non-contact injury against the Wizards. The Timberwolves are hoping for the former Rookie of the Year to return in January.

Despite featuring a loaded starting lineup including Towns and newcomer Rudy Gobert down low and 2021 First Team All-Rookie Anthony Edwards and former All-Star D'Angelo Russell in the backcourt, Minnesota has had an inconsistent 2022-2023 campaign thus far. The Timberwolves have lost three straight and are on the fringe of the Western Conference playoff picture through the early portion of the season at 10-11.

"KAT" has played in all 21 games thus far, averaging 20.8 points, 8.2 rebounds and a career-high 5.3 assists per contest.
