Tobias Harris angry he isn't viewed as third star alongside Joel Embiid, Ben Simmons

Philadelphia 76ers forward Tobias Harris is sick of not getting the respect he believes he deserves.

Harris sat down for an interview with The Athletic's Sam Amick and revealed he's frustrated that people don't believe he's capable of being a third star for the Sixers alongside Ben Simmons and Joel Embiid.

"You know, I was a top-10 player coming out (of Tennessee in 2011), and I wasn't on many draft boards like that in the beginning," Harris said. "Even now, it's like if you look at those stats (this season), you would say, 'Oh wow' (but he remains under the radar). … But at the same time, the respect that I always care about is the respect between myself and teammates."

Harris continued to say that he doesn't believe he's widely regarded as a star because he doesn't have the "hype" or name recognition other players around the league have.

The 28-year-old is in the midst of a career year for the Sixers, averaging 20.6 points, 7.8 rebounds and 3.4 assists per game while shooting 51.3% from the field and 40.3% from deep.

Harris's emergence as a more productive wing is part of the reason why the Sixers are 20-11 this season and first in the Eastern Conference.
