Ron Harper Jr. is coming off his rookie season, where he played in nine games for the  Toronto Raptors

The former Rutgers star averaged 2.2 points per contest on 50.0% shooting from the field.

On Thursday, ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reported that Harper Jr. will sign another two-way contract with the Raptors.

Via Wojnarowski : "Forward Ron Harper Jr., has agreed on a new two-way contract to the return to the Toronto Raptors, Drew Gross of  @rocnationsports tells ESPN. Harper Jr., averaged 17 points and five rebounds in his rookie season with the Raptors’ G League affiliate."

In addition to the NBA, Harper Jr. spent time in the G League and averaged 16.7 points, 5.1 rebounds, 4.0 assists, 1.0 steals and 1.2 blocks per contest in 30 regular season games (he also appeared in 14 Showcase Cup games).

He is only 23 years old, so there is no question that Harper Jr. will continue to improve this season.

In addition, he is the son of Ron Harper, who won five NBA Championships and played 15 seasons for the Los Angeles Lakers, Chicago Bulls, Cleveland Cavaliers and Los Angeles Clippers.

As for the Raptors, they are coming off a year where they were the ninth seed in the Eastern Conference and had a 41-41 record.

They lost to the Chicago Bulls in their first play-in tournament game, so the Raptors did not make the NBA playoffs.

The franchise won the 2019 NBA Championship but has only won one playoff series since that span.
