The Chicago Bulls may get back-rugged forward Torrey Craig in the next few games. This development bodes well for a Bulls team ravaged by injuries to key players like Zach LaVine and Patrick Williams, who are already out for the remainder of the season due to foot injuries.

TC is ramping up his on-court activities

Craig has been sidelined since the All-Star break when he sprained his knee during a workout. In his absence, the Bulls have turned to numerous unproven young guys like Onuralp Bitim, Dalen Terry, and Julian Phillips.

And while all three have had their moments, Craig brings veteran savvy and a physical style of play that the Bulls desperately need. According to head coach Billy Donovan, Craig has been ramping up his on-court activities and could potentially return during the team's current road trip.

“He’s really moving in a really good direction,” Donovan said.

“I don’t know about this road trip, it’s not out of the question. A lot of it depends on how he continues to progress, but I think the medical guys are pretty optimistic of where he is at this point and time, so he’s definitely progressing closer and closer to playing.”

Craig will be on a minute restriction when he returns

While the date of Craig’s return is uncertain, what is clear is that the veteran forward’s minutes will be restricted once he returns to the lineup. Craig missed over six weeks due to plantar fasciitis and played six games before injuring his knee.

“In my conversation with 9the medical staff) it will definitely be a minute restriction and a pretty strong one as he works his way back,” Donovan said.

The Bulls have a back-to-back set coming against the Utah Jazz and the Golden State Warriors before they finish this road trip with a tiff against the Los Angeles Clippers.
