With the NBA trade deadline approaching, the New York Knicks are running out of time to pick up assets for a potentially lucrative playoff run.

With the deadline landing on Thursday at 3 p.m. ET, Bleacher Report's Dan Favale listed "last-minute" deadline targets for each team. The Knicks' list features usual suspects like Mikal Bridges and Malcolm Brogdon but a potential dark horse appears in the form of Utah Jazz guard Collin Sexton.

"(Sexton) is currently on a tear," Favale writes. "What he lacks in off-the-bounce marksmanship from the outside, he more than makes up for with good spot-up touch, on-ball rim pressure, and Brogdon-like passing off drives."

"His contract leaks past next season and isn't as much of a steal as (Dejounte) Murray's deal," Favale continues. "But two years and $37.2 million for a quintessential bench captain is reasonable enough whether the Knicks retain him or need his salary for a flashier deal later."

Sexton, one of the acquisitions in the deal that sent Donovan Mitchell to Cleveland, is averaging 17.5 points per game, tied with fellow potential trade target Jordan Clarkson as Utah's second-leading scorer.

While the Knicks have succeeded with OG Anunoby in the lineup, it came at a price, as most of the scoring off the bench disappeared when Immanuel Quickley was sent away in the deal with Toronto. Sexton would solve that problem not just immediately but in the future as well thanks to the two years left on his deal.

The Knicks (32-18) have one more game before the deadline, as the Memphis Grizzlies are set to visit on Tuesday night (7:30 p.m. ET, MSG).
