Trail Blazers' Damian Lillard out at least 10 days with abdominal tendinopathy

The Portland Trail Blazers improved to 11-11 via Tuesday's 110-92 win over the Detroit Pistons and did so without All-Star Damian Lillard in the lineup as he sat to manage a lingering abdominal injury.

Lillard won't be returning to action anytime soon.

Via an official statement, Portland president of basketball operations Neil Olshey announced Wednesday that an MRI confirmed Lillard is dealing with lower abdominal tendinopathy and will be out for 10 days before he's re-evaluated. That timeline has the 31-year-old set to miss a minimum of four additional games as he works to get right.

Additionally, the Trail Blazers said forward Nassir Little will be sidelined at least a week with a left ankle sprain he suffered in Monday's loss at the Utah Jazz.

As noted by ESPN, Lillard first experienced the setback while featuring for Team USA at the Olympics this past summer. The six-time All-Star selection is averaging 21.5 points, 7.8 assists, and 4.0 rebounds across 20 games this season.

Portland hosts the 6-13 San Antonio Spurs on Thursday evening.
