Detroit Pistons veteran forward Danilo Gallinari has been well-traveled in his NBA career. The No. 6 overall pick by the New York Knicks in the 2008 NBA Draft has taken the court for seven different franchises and been part of a few more.

Gallinari was on the Boston Celtics during the 2022-23 season but missed the entire campaign with a torn ACL. He landed in Boston after the Atlanta Hawks traded him to the San Antonio Spurs during the 2022 offseason in the Dejounte Murray blockbuster. Gallinari was released by San Antonio almost immediately.

This past offseason, he ended up with the Washington Wizards as part of a three-team deal that included the Celtics and Memphis Grizzlies. He wasn’t long for Washington either, as he was traded to the Pistons on January 14th.

Stuck in a rebuild, the Pistons don’t have much use for a veteran such as Gallinari. After playing in six games with the franchise they opted to waive him, allowing him to latch on with a contending team for the remainder of the season.

Where could Gallinari end up? According to The Pat Bev Pod on X, formerly Twitter, the veteran forward will be signing with the Los Angeles Clippers or Milwaukee Bucks.

Both teams are legitimate NBA Contenders and would benefit from adding a veteran of Gallinari’s caliber to their roster. Even at 35 years old, Gallinari can provide a team with some scoring punch in the frontcourt with his excellent 3-point shooting.

Landing with either the Clippers or Bucks would also present him with a chance to chase a ring. Gallinari has been on a team that advanced beyond the first round of the playoffs only once; in the 2021 NBA postseason when the Hawks made a run to the Eastern Conference Finals.
