Tyler Herro on trade rumors: 'Whether I'm on the Heat or somewhere else, I'm getting ready for the season'

Miami Heat guard Tyler Herro, the NBA's reigning Sixth Man of the Year, enters his fourth NBA campaign unsure of where his future lies.

With the Heat seemingly interested in every star player rumored to be on the trade block, Herro's name has come up as a possible piece to help Miami pull off a blockbuster deal.

With so much up in the air for the 23-year-old, Herro told the Miami Herald's Anthony Chiang (h/t Real GM) that the rumors "don't bother me."

"I mean, every summer, that's just what it is," Herro said. "I mean ever since I've been here, my name has been in rumors. So rumors, they don't bother me. Whether I'm on the Heat or somewhere else, I'm getting ready for the season."

Herro is also entering the final year of his rookie contract and is eligible for a five-year, $188 million extension. The Heat have until October 18 to agree to a new deal.

When asked about his contract status, Herro said he'd let his agent take care of things, adding, "I know as much as you know."

Herro averaged a career-high 20.7 points per game in 2021-22, with 5.0 rebounds and 4.0 assists in 66 regular-season games.

Selected with the 13th pick in 2019 by Heat, Herro has averaged 16.7 points, 4.7 rebounds and 3.2 assists over three seasons in Miami.
