UCLA basketball guard Sebastian Mack has been named one of the five Pac-12 players selected to the Pac-12's All-Freshman team, via UCLA Communications.

Mack was one of just five players named to the team alongside USC's Isaiah Collier, Washington State's Myles Rice, Oregon's Jackson Shelstad, and Colorado's Cody Williams. Rice was also named the Pac-1 Freshman of the Year.

The 6'3" freshman was one of two Bruins honored Tuesday in the conference's end-of-year awards, with Adem Bona being named the Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Year and making the All-Pac-12 All-Defensive team and the All-Pac-12 first team.

Mack was named to the freshman team after playing in all 31 games for UCLA this season. He won the Pac-12 Freshman of the Week award twice, on November 27 and December 26.

Mack tied with Bona for leading the team in scoring, with both players averaging 12.4 points per game. In addition, Mack averaged 3.6 rebounds, and 1.6 assists per game while shooting 39% from the field.

Even while battling a nagging toe injury this season, Mack continued to play through it and was one of the best Bruins during the season.

Though a lot has been made this season about the Bruins' inability to replace the talent and recruit well after they lost Jaylen Clark, Jaime Jacquez Jr., and Tyger Campbell last year. This year's team is not up to the level of those players, but these awards do show that this squad has some talented players in Mack and Bona.
