Unusual diet fuels NBA's longest consecutive-games streak

Mikal Bridges has played every game of his NBA career. The secret might be his love of Chipotle.

The NBA's reigning iron man, who has played all 423 possible games in his NBA career, also clearly has an iron stomach. Bridges claims he has eaten at Chipotle every day for the past decade, explaining, "It's too fire not to have it every single time."

For those who want to emulate the Brooklyn Nets star, his order is a burrito bowl with white rice, double chicken, no beans and both medium and mild salsa, plus lettuce. It runs $16.20 at the closest Chipotle to the Barclays Center, good value since the NBA per diem for food money is $156.

Bridges may have had a chance to get his Chipotle early Wednesday night, as the Nets rested three starters and pulled Bridges after the first quarter, along with Royce O'Neale and Cam Thomas. The Chipotle enthusiast wasn't happy to get a breather, telling the New York Post that he "definitely wasn't a fan" and "never" needs rest. Why not? He has Chipotle to fuel him.

Other teams may look at Bridges' discontent as an opportunity. Last year, a team reportedly offered four first-round picks for Bridges, who is signed through the 2025-26 season. With the Nets sitting in ninth place in the Eastern Conference, they may decide to move Bridges while his value is at its peak — as long as the team he goes to has a Chipotle near the arena.
