Vanessa Bryant opens up about life without Kobe Bryant, daughter Gianna

It's been over one year since Los Angeles Lakers legend Kobe Bryant, his daughter Gianna and seven others died in a tragic helicopter accident in Calabasas, Calif. For the first time, Vanessa Bryant opened up about life without her husband and daughter in an interview with People.com.

Bryant admitted that the pain she feels is "unimaginable" but that "you just have to get up and push forward." She also said that crying and lying around isn't going to make her feel any better.

"Lying in bed crying isn't going to change the fact that my family will never be the same again," Bryant said. "But getting out of bed and pushing forward is going to make the day better for my girls and for me. So that's what I do."

Bryant has been very busy since her husband and daughter died. She worked to help complete Kobe's novel "Epoca: The River of Sand," which was released in December. Bryant also relaunched Kobe's nonprofit organization as the "Mamba and Mambacita Sports Foundation," whose mission is to help "underserved athletes and women in sports."

The Lakers have also honored Kobe in several ways since his death. They paid tribute to him on their 2020 NBA championship rings and also with their "Black Mamba" jerseys.

Brooklyn Nets star Kyrie Irving has also been pushing for the NBA to change its logo from Jerry West to Kobe.
