Vanessa Bryant seeking 'hundreds of millions' in damages over Kobe's death

The death of Kobe Bryant shook the world to its core in January, and now his wife Vanessa is seeking "hundreds of millions of dollars" in a lawsuit against the helicopter company and estate of the pilot involved in the crash that killed Bryant and his daughter Gianna, according to Page Six.

Vanessa Bryant filed a wrongful death lawsuit against the helicopter company, Island Express Helicopters, and pilot Ara Zobayan in February following the death of her husband and daughter. She claims that Zobayan was careless and negligent by flying in cloudy conditions on the day all passengers aboard the aircraft were killed.
She also states that she is "entitled" to hundreds of millions in future lost earnings as a result of the Los Angeles Lakers legend's death.

“As a result of Kobe Bryant’s and GB’s deaths, Vanessa Bryant seeks economic damages, non-economic damages, prejudgment interest, punitive damages, and other relief as the Court deems just and proper,” court papers filed in the case say, according to The Blast.

Island Express Helicopters and the brother of Zobayan responded to the lawsuit last month, saying all passengers were aware of and "had actual knowledge of all of the circumstances, particular dangers, and an appreciation of the risks involved and the magnitude thereof." They also added that all passengers therefore "assumed the risk of the accident, injury, and damages."

Bryant, his daughter Gianna and seven others died in a helicopter crash in Calabasas, Calif. in January. All passengers on board the flight died instantly upon impact, according to newly revealed details.
