Vanessa Bryant thankful Kobe murals in L.A. remain untouched by protesters

Protests, looting and rioting have ensued across the nation in response to the death of George Floyd last week, but not everything in one specific area of the country is ruined.

Amid protests in Los Angeles that have at times turned violent, murals of the late Kobe Bryant and daughter Gianna have remained untouched across the city.

Bryant's wife Vanessa shared photos of the murals to her Instagram page Monday night, according to TMZ, and she is extremely thankful that protesters haven't defaced the paintings. The murals were put up in response to Bryant and Gianna's tragic deaths in a January helicopter crash.

The protests across the country come after Floyd, an African American man, died last week while being violently apprehended by former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin.

The 46-year-old was pinned to the ground by Chauvin, who then proceeded to kneel on his neck and prevent him from breathing. Floyd pleaded for his life and even told officer Chauvin he couldn't breathe, but Chauvin refused to move off his neck.

Floyd was later pronounced dead at the hospital, and Chauvin was arrested Friday on charges of third-degree murder and second-degree manslaughter.
