Warriors' Andrew Wiggins questionable with ankle injury for Game 3, expected to play

When the NBA injury report came out on Saturday afternoon, Golden State Warriors shooting guard Andrew Wiggins was listed as questionable with left ankle soreness ahead of Game 3 of the Western Conference Finals.

Wiggins' injury designation created doubt about his status for Sunday's crucial matchup against the Mavericks, but Warriors coach Steve Kerr eased any worries about the All-Star missing Game 3.

"I expect him to play," Kerr told the media Saturday evening. "Technically he's questionable but we expect him to play."

During the first half of the Warriors' Game 2 win over the Mavericks, Wiggins drove to the basket for a layup and appeared to twist his left ankle on the landing.

The 27-year-old finished with 16 points in Game 2. While Wiggins shot just 35 percent (5-of-14) from the field, he made up for it from beyond the arc, making three of five three-pointers.

Wiggins has averaged 36.6 minutes per game in the conference finals, posting 17.5 points, five rebounds, four assists and a block per game.

During the postseason, Wiggins has started 13 games, averaging 15.0 points, 6.6 rebounds, 1.6 assists and 1.4 blocks in 32.4 minutes per game.

Wiggins and the Warriors look to take a commanding 3-0 lead over the Mavericks in Game 3 Sunday at 9 p.m. ET in Dallas.
