Warriors coach Steve Kerr on Steph Curry: 'Nobody's ever shot the ball like this in the history of the game'

Steph Curry is in the midst of perhaps the greatest stretch of his already-legendary career, including scoring 49 points in the Warriors' win over the 76ers on Monday night. Curry's exceptional play has not been lost on Golden State coach Steve Kerr, who compared his point guard's otherworldly hot streak to a few of the best offensive players in NBA history.

"I've seen Kobe Bryant, early in his career had a stretch where he went nuts," Kerr said. "And, obviously, Michael Jordan had some stretches where he just scored like crazy. But, obviously, nobody’s ever shot the ball like this in the history of the game."

It's hard to do justice to Curry's current level of play, as he is averaging 40.0 points on 54.1% shooting and 49.7% from three-point range in the 11 games since he returned from injury. He has made at least 10 three-point shots in four of his last five games. To put that into perspective, there is only one other player in NBA history with four games with 10 or more three-pointers: Curry's teammate, Klay Thompson.

Curry has been so transcendentally great that he has forced himself into the MVP conversation despite the 29-29 Warriors only holding the ninth-best record in the Western Conference.
