Warriors GM Bob Myers, HC Steve Kerr, respond to Draymond Green/Jordan Poole incident

Before the first tip-off of the 2022-2023 NBA season, the Golden State Warriors are already dealing with some internal adversity.

On Wednesday, teammates Draymond Green and Jordan Poole got into a physical altercation causing a halt to the Warriors' practice.

A day later, the Warriors' leadership addressed the issue between Green and Poole.

"It's the NBA. It's professional sports. These things happen," Warriors GM Bob Myers said. "Nobody likes it. We don't condone it, but it happened."

Myers told reporters that Green apologized to the team Thursday morning, adding that any discipline would be handled in-house and that he "doesn't think" Green would miss any games due to suspension.

According to Shams Charania of The Athletic, Poole and Green were involved in a "heated interaction" during practice before Green quickly escalated the situation. Green reportedly "forcefully struck" Poole before teammates intervened.

Rumors have swirled that the incident stemmed from a change in attitude with Poole, something both Myers and Kerr denied on Wednesday.

"Someone put it out there that Jordan had an attitude at camp," Kerr said. "Nothing could be further from the truth. He's been fantastic."

While it appears that, for now, cooler heads have prevailed, nothing is ever certain when Green is involved. Especially when Green and Poole have reportedly butted heads in the past.

The Warriors open the regular season in less than two weeks, hosting the Los Angeles Lakers on Tuesday, October 18.
