Warriors have tough road ahead with Stephen Curry expected to miss 'a few weeks'

Dub Nation received a concerning update regarding their beloved Stephen Curry and his injured shoulder on Thursday afternoon.

The reigning NBA Finals MVP suffered the injury during the Warriors' loss to the Indiana Pacers on Wednesday. It was the latest road setback for Golden State, as they have dropped their last four contests away from Chase Center.

They're 14-15 overall, are clinging to a spot in the play-in tournament and have the worst road record in the Western Conference at 2-13.

Curry has missed just three games this season -- all of which are road losses -- including a one-point defeat against the Utah Jazz, a nine-point loss to the New Orleans Pelicans, and a 45-point shredding at the hands of the Pelicans. The numbers for coach Steve Kerr's group without the Davidson product aren't pretty.

Curry was recently named SI's Sportsperson of the Year after a 2022 that saw him not only capture the Finals MVP but All-Star Game MVP and Western Conference Finals MVP as well. The 34-year-old is having his best offensive season statistically in years, averaging 30.0 points, 6.8 assists (most since 2014-2015), and 6.6 rebounds (career-high) in 26 games, while shooting 50.0% from the field (highest since 2015-2016) and 43.4% from beyond the arc (highest since 2018-2019).

The Warriors' first test sans Curry will come on the road Friday against the Philadelphia 76ers. The Sixers are dealing with an injury to one of their own stars in the backcourt, Tyrese Maxey, who has missed the last month with a foot ailment.
