The Golden State Warriors beat the Minnesota Timberwolves on Tuesday to take a 1-0 lead in the second round of the playoffs. However, superstar point guard Steph Curry suffered a left hamstring injury and will miss at least one week.

Pat Spencer played 10 minutes in Game 1 after Curry exited. He finished with four points, two rebounds and two steals while shooting 2-of-4 from the field.

Spencer will get more playing time now that Curry is out. While the 28-year-old is happy the Warriors won Game 1, he couldn't get over the fact that Curry got injured.

"I can't even talk about the excitement of the win because we were bummed about the Steph situation," Spencer said on 95.7 The Game. "Dude is the ultimate teammate. So the first thing you want to do after the game is get to the locker room and check on that guy.

"Brutal situation for us. Obviously Grade 1, I wouldn't say is the best news, but the best result for us. So hopefully that means we can get him back here soon. We have the ultimate belief in Jimmy [Butler], Draymond [Green] and the rest of the crew to hold it down."

Curry is averaging 22.6 points, 5.3 rebounds and 5.1 assists in the 2025 postseason while shooting 47.7% from the field, 40.0% from 3 and 89.3% from the foul line.

The Warriors beat the Houston Rockets in the first round in seven games. Game 2 between Golden and Minnesota is on Thursday. It's unknown who will start in place of Curry.

With Curry out, Jimmy Butler, Draymond Green and Buddy Hield will have to take their games to another level for Golden State to beat Minnesota.

"We know what Jimmy's capable of," Green said. "Jimmy's capable of carrying a team. He carried a team to the Finals twice. So we won't panic. We will figure out what that means."
