Warriors star Stephen Curry's Game 1 status remains up in the air

Two days after it was reported that Golden State Warriors point guard Stephen Curry's availability for the Dubs' first playoff game could " go down to the wire," the team had an update on Tuesday.

ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski added that the two-time MVP's chances of playing on Saturday remain a "close-call." Per Anthony Slater of The Athletic, Warriors head coach Steve Kerr said Tuesday that it was "essential" that Curry play in a scrimmage before making his return.

The Dubs are scheduled to hold a team scrimmage on Thursday.

Curry suffered his injury in mid-March, and it was announced on April 1 that he would miss the remainder of the regular season. The NBA's all-time three-point king was injured during a controversial play against the Boston Celtics when his leg got rolled on by Boston guard Marcus Smart as both players wrestled for a loose ball.
