Warriors' Stephen Curry: My mind went to a dark place over Tiger Woods' car accident

The sports world was shaken to its core on Tuesday after news broke about golf star Tiger Woods being seriously injured in a rollover car accident.

Many athletes sent well wishes to Woods and Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry, who isn't such a lousy golfer himself, said he feared for Woods' life after seeing images of the rolled-over vehicle.

"It's very unfortunate this day and age when you get a text like that and hear about Tiger," Curry told ClutchPoints. "Obviously your mind goes, well for me, it went to a dark place. Thankfully, he didn't have any life-threatening injuries, but it's just unfortunate and sad knowing all that he's been through these last couple of years. So, thankfully, he's okay, from what I hear. I don't know too many details."

Woods was the only passenger in the vehicle that rolled over after 7 a.m. Authorities had to use hydraulic rescue tools to remove Woods from his vehicle. He was unable to stand on his own and underwent surgery on his legs at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center. The injuries are not considered life-threatening.

The 45-year-old is one of the greatest golfers of all time. He's tied for first all-time in PGA Tour wins and has won 15 majors.

Curry and Woods have always had a strong relationship. Earlier this month, Curry admitted that Woods gave him "the biggest pep talk of all time" when the Warriors trailed the Memphis Grizzlies 2-1 in the Western Conference semifinals in 2015. Curry notched 33 points the next game to tie the series and eventually went on to win the NBA title.
